Plate type filter press is solid-liquid separation device for intermittent application as it works on batch basis. It is available in various closing options such as manual, hydraulic & ratchet system.
P.P. plates covered with filter clothes are place on side bar of rigid M.S./C.I structure. Bottom of the plate is fitted with tap for facilitating the drainage of liquid. One end of structure is feed point & other side is pressing zone fitted with screw or hydraulic cylinder. Initially pressure is applied on plates so that they are tightened properly and then slurry is fed from other side. Slurry passes through the plates and spreads between two plates-which are already tightened with applied pressure-causes the release of liquid through taps provided on plates & solids deposit on filter cloth. Once, complete water is released then plates are manually shifted and the sludge falls on trolley placed below the plates.
